Fraud of Shopper Discounts & Rewards aka WebLoyalty, Inc.

I recently saw a charge worth $12.00 from Shopper Discounts & Rewards on my credit card. At first I neglected it, but fortuitously I noticed that the same charge is coming on my statement every month. Since the amount was not too much, it could never catch my sight. I called my bank and came to know that Shopper Discounts has been charging me for last 7 months. On further investigation and search on internet I found out that I was not the only one. There are zillions of other victim customers just like me, who were charged by this devil company.

(more on this…)

  1. I am also a victim of Shopper Discount. My account has been debited by 12$ for consecutive 4 months. I didnt realize that. What should I do so that my account will be more secure.

    • It’s actually a 3 step process but in your case, it’s going to take 2:

      1. Call shoppers discount and ask them to cancel your membership and give you a complete refund. They’ll give you only 2 months’ refund, but don’t worry we’ll do something more to get your complete refund 😉

      2. Call your credit card bank and dispute all of the Shopper Discounts transactions. In 30 days you’ll get your rest of the money as well.

In your case, things are simpler because it’s only been 4 months since Shopper Discounts started charging you. In my case, 7 months had passed when I came to realize. But even then I was able to get my money back by going through a little longer route and it was, I had to contact BBB (the third step) and filed a complaint there. After 30 days of filing I got ALL of money back.

I’m planning to write the complete story in my article in short. If you are interested, check this article after a week or so.

Wish you all the best 🙂

  2. We just found this $12 monthly charge on here .. I called Shopper’s Discount and had to bully the guy to refund what had already been charged for May .. the current month .. even though I asked for them to refund the entire amount like you have suggested here .. In our case, he mentioned that we had gotten hooked into them though LiveNation.Com … So now by buying tickets and trying to use an alternative to TicketMaster which has those gross so-called convenience fees, we get a perpetual charge of $12 each month .. How many scams can these people come up with to take our money ..

    Disgusting …

    • John, it’s not very difficult to get your money back from these e-thugs. All you need is a little bit of patience and a little bit of technique. If they don’t give you a complete refund then you’ll have to file complaint at BBB. For more details see my article (if you haven’t already seen) with my full story on dealing with these scammers:

  3. Im being charge £8.00 once three months ago, it was a small amount and neglected inquiring the the credit card company about it, threee months later now JULY 09, that amount appeared again, i wen to all my statements and to my surprise, the amount has been regularly debitted.

I do not remember signing a direct debit with them, how can I ask for refund?

Can the web do something to unite nd have this company be inverstigated for fraud..

    • Mars,

The problem is, the amount of money they debit is too minimal that most customers neglect it. In my case it was $84.00, in your case it’s $24.00. We should never ever let these scammers go with this no matter how small the amount is. This is their business model and that’s how they survive: on the money of people who let them go away.

Please see my complete story, click to see how to get your money back; it’s very easy. You need 2 things, patience & technique.

  4. I just realized, I have been hit by this scam. Reading all the above responses and comments, I called the 1-800 #. However the representative only helped me partially by providing only half the refund. I remember buying something from, but never ever subscribed to ShoppersDiscounts or used any of their services for anything. My experience is similar to other postings, but not sure how I can get my hard earned money back. It’s outrageous to rob people of their money in this economy. Does anyone have a way of dealing with these people ? How can they openly steal the money ? Even if they charged the credit card under some pretex, they should refund the money if asked to as someone like me never used their service or directly subscribed them. PL advice.
